In My Delirium....
I wish my husband was awake and would go get me some ice cream or something cold, sweet & fattening. I have to get up way too early tomorrow to be tortured by my friend, Ashley with our training for the Big Race....And to really put me over the edge, Spencer has his 1st seeding tournament for soccer right after my workout. A yummy treat would really help take away the dread I feel right now!

Happy Anniversary!
Yesterday, was our 10 year wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been that long, and yet I feel like I've been married FOREVER! There were many skeptics in the beginning. But, here we are together still. We have been so blessed with our 3 children. And of course, I'm still stuck with the dogs, too. I love Bruce so much and I really can't believe how much closer we are now than 10 years ago. It's amazing how much a person grows on you. Bruce is the most hard working person I know. He is so thoughtful of other people's feelings. He is a wonderful father. And, he's the only guy I know that at nearly 37, still fits in the same pant size he did when we got married. He's still got those yummy strong muscles, too!!! How lucky am I! I'm trying to scan in some wedding pics to post...you know how I like to laugh at myself. Happy Anniversary, Honey! I expect big diamonds for our 20 year!

Family Matters Most
Just want to vent for one minute. If you ever have family in need, please make yourself available to help. I can say that 2 of the most meaningful and Christ-like experiences of my life were helping my sister care for my Grandma Boone right before she died and helping to care for my Grandpa with Alzheimer's last weekend. I didn't enjoy it. I was bored out of my mind. I felt brokenhearted to see someone I love wilting away. But I know it was the right thing to buck up and do it. There are so many reasons to stay away, some may even be fairly valid. But think for a moment about when the day comes that you can't shower yourself or go to the bathroom alone or wipe yourself...etc. How would you feel if your family said they didn't have the time or couldn't pay the gas money to drive over? After all that you spent your lifetime giving to your family could you imagine how hurtful it would be to be put off in your last years of need? As I sit here, I really hope that all the old people in the world could have people that love them, with them and caring for them. They don't deserve to be ignored. For me, Family Matters Most. Period.

Yummy Recipes
At my last Live, Laugh, Love club meeting, my friend Debbie made dinner and these were 2 of the recipes she shared with us. Let me tell you....ooooh, they are soooo good! Thanks Debbie!
Cheese Bread
1 round French loaf—cut into squares but not cut to the bottom of the bread so you can pluck the squares when you’re ready.
1 lb. sliced Monterey jack or swiss cheese (or really any cheese)
mix2 cubes of melted butter with:
2 T. minced onion
2 T. lemon juice
2 t. poppy seeds
1 t. season salt
½ t. dry mustard
Pour over the bread and bake at 350 for 30-40 min. (cover with foil for the last 15 min.)
Tri Tip Salsa
1 can pinto beans
1 can corn
½ cup favorite salsa
½ cup chopped cilantro
You can really add anything to this—I’ve added tomatoes and used black beans. The key ingredient is the cilantro

In Training...
This will sound CRAZY to those who know me well....tomorrow am, super early, I'm beginning to train for Eppie's Great Race 2009!!!! I've never done any races at all so to do a triathlon for my 1st is pretty nuts. But I'm super stoked....I've got friends doing it with me and the most exciting part is that we've agreed to have matching custom team workout wear for the race!!!
