Hmmm, I've got another confession. (I like to get things off my chest!) In addition to binge eating and not exercising I've been on a bit of a spending streak too. UGHHH, the guilt. Well, that's a lie. I've always felt that I feel guilty for not feeling guilty. Does that make sense? My friend Molly refers to it as the good ole' Catholic guilt. I'm not Catholic. I'm a Mormon. But, my dad came from a Catholic family so I think not only do I have the Mormon guilt...I've inherited the Catholic guilt too. It's a double whammy! But, The guilt isn't what I want to talk about.
I want to talk about what I've been spending on. As much as I need to get myself in check, I admit I'm sooo elated about it. I ran out of my favorite Lancome moistuizer way back when....So, I got another. Chi-Ching! I also had run out of my favorite shampoo & conditioner, Pureology. Chi-Ching! I got my hair cut on Friday. Then I was at Target & they have some really cute stuff right now... I picked up a fabulous hat & denim jacket. After that trip I went to Red Bluff. The main intent was to take care of my Grandpa for the weekend. I ran over to a jewery show with my sister before my shift officially started. I came home with a lovely, plump bag of jewelry. Oh, and another hat! Chi-Ching! I stayed the night with Gramps and had a great weekend with my family. My mom, sister & I snuck down to Chico for a few hours to have a little get together with Patrice. That is when the food binging got bad. I had a stomach ache the rest of the day and into Sunday. But....I looked really cute in my new hats & earrings!!!
Now, Monday has arrived. The spending spree is DONE! It's to the gym and minimal eating for me. How wonderful it is to have a fresh start!

A New Leaf

I don't know if it's because we're moving into fall, which I absolutely love, or if it's the excitement over my pot of Okra soup simmering on the stove, but I think I may finally be feeling a little brightness in my future. A few small things have changed recently:
1. You all know I've been training(that might be a slight exaggeration but the term "training" does make me feel more in control of what I'm doing so I'll stick with it)for Eppie's...I've also decided to do a virtual 1/2 marathon in October that is sponsored by Nike. All I know is one day of pure H E double hockeystick and I will get a Tiffany keychain & a cute pink tee!! I'm enjoying excercise, HUGE!
2. We've started the organic produce delivery w/ Farm Fresh to You.
3. Here's the news flash. I'm starting therapy! No ooohs or pity thoughts. This is pure heaven for me. I'm a big therapist wannabe and I loved therapy before. I swear by it. You all should go. There's nothing shameful in it!!
4. My thyroid meds are being increased...YEAH! Nothing screams energy like a great pill from the ole doctor.
5. I also so very excited that "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini was finally on reserve for me at the library. I've been holding out on buying hoping to get it at the library, which takes forever!! Bruce will be gone tonight and most of tomorrow so I can have it all done by Sunday...YA HOO!
You know, I'm thinking it could still be the dress from last Sunday...The thrill of that lasts for at least a full week. Hmmm.
Tomorrow I might be a nut job again...but for today, I feel great!

Pass the Remote please!!!
I'm really starting to feel the blog thing!!! It really is free therapy for me. I'm so excited about my new layout. Isn't it cute?
So, I am starting my week exhausted and frazzled. My friend, Michele, has been in the hospital trying to have a baby.....After being in the hospital since Wed. she finally had her baby boy late last night. I've had her 3 kids since 5:30am on Saturday. Just dropped them off and WHEW!!!! The funny thing is that as crazy as my weekend was, it really wasn't that bad. It felt so great to know that I'm helping a friend who not only is in real need but truly appreciates the help. Luv you Michele!!
Taylor & Cameron are sick. Spencer is so-so. He went to school today but we'll see what happens through the week. To top it all off, I've gotten of my newly designed schedule of exercise & sleep. All I want is to curl up on the couch with some good snacks, a diet pepsi and watch some good ol' American TV!!! I admit it, my authentic self could be a couch potato. Luckily I have piano lessons today to get me up & keep me on track.

This morning I went to Yoga. I can't believe how much better I did. I'm almost done reading The Kite Runner. It's sooo good. I can't wait to finish it but I'm so sad for it to end. Aren't all great things in life like that. So back to Yoga, I've been wondering how much actual toning would happen doing yoga. I happened to have noticed today that our instructor had more belly fat than me. It was a realization that I really already knew.....Getting it off will need much more attention than just some yoga!!!! (Hope the instructor doesn't ever see this!!)

Ouch!! That's all I can say as I sit down. I tried a spin class yesterday morning. Kicked my butt...& my muffin for that matter. Those seats are brutal. But it was a great workout so I'm going back next Saturday for another beating. The great thing is that I scheduled massages for Bruce & I that afternoon so it will be wonderful after class. I'm trying to clean & organize our sad version of an office/playroom. I've kinda gotten to the mom that burns the house down stage. Not that bad really but I have thrown 3 full bags out & am not quite 1/2 way done. Schools out this week & I only have a few piano lessons so hopefully it will be very nice & tidy by next weekend. Thought I'd post a few pics of my family....
Oh, and for any non sleepers like me, I've been trying Valerian Root & it seems to be working for me.
